The annual Hertfordshire Garden Show is returning to Knebworth over the May Bank Holiday weekend (Saturday 4th – Monday 6th May) and is celebrating their 30th year at Knebworth Park!
The popular show will host exhibitor stalls showcasing a wide variety of horticultural goods including garden furniture, water features, tools, sculptures and much more, providing plenty of inspiration for your garden this spring and summer.
Tickets to the Hertfordshire Garden Show also include access to Knebworth Gardens, Knebworth Park, Adventure Playground, Fort Knebworth and the Dinosaur Trail, making it a great day out for the whole family. It also makes a great opportunity to visit Knebworth House itself, for a small supplement, and learn about its 500-year history.
There have been gardens at Knebworth House since at least the 17th Century, but the present layout dates largely from the Edwardian era. The architect Sir Edwin Lutyens simplified the ornate beds and statuary of the Victorian garden with lawns and avenues of pollarded lime trees. The Herb Garden was recreated in 1982 from Gertrude Jekyll’s 1907 design. Each generation has enhanced the gardens and the recent wood carvings are particularly interesting. The 28 acres of Formal Gardens also include a maze, colourful borders, fine trees, and a walled vegetable garden.
A range of plants and gifts will be on sale in the Gift Shop and the Garden Terrace Tea Room will be open offering a selection of delicious home-made cakes, lunch options and hot drinks. Season ticket holders receive 10% off in the Tea Room and selected items in the Gift Shop.
