What makes hotel breaks memorable and great you ask? One of the stand outs is having interesting attractions near to where you’re staying.

Looking for a last minute break? Or fancy a city break near to London? Whatever you’re looking for, take a day to see Knebworth House. This is an attraction that offers a lot.

What should we visit?

Knebworth House

This is a house that has an interesting exterior with its domes, gargoyles and turrets. There’s more to be explored inside though.

The House first achieved notoriety in the Victorian era. It was the home of Sir Edward Bulwer Lytton, the renowned playwright and politician. Lady Constance Lytton who was Hertfordshire’s own Suffragette during WW2 was related to Edward.

The generations of the Lytton family that lived here left their own style at Knebworth. Walk through 500 years of extraordinary British history here. There has been other notable visits here by the likes of Winston Churchill and Noel Gallagher.

The Dinosaur Trail and Playground

This is where the kids will never want to leave. There’s a lot of fun to be had. See the Wilderness Garden and explore the Maze.

The Wilderness Garden is also home to the famous Dino Trail.  Keep an eye out between the shrubbery to see 70 life sized dinosaurs grazing. The kids can learn about a plethora of different dinosaurs including the T-Rex and the Woolly Mammoth.

The Adventure Playground is perfect for the kids too. Hours can be lost here. From the zip wire, slides and play equipment to the popular bouncy castle and more.

These are just some of the many activities on offer. To us, this is a stand out attraction for several reasons. The rich history, the location and the diversity of what to do and see. Plus its family friendly.
