If you thought you saw plague-infected zombies marauding across the Park a few weekends ago, I can reassure you that you weren’t necessarily under the influence of a good lunch at the Lytton! The Park was playing host to a science fiction feature film called “28 Weeks Later”. Our long grass was the attraction, as we were meant to represent a post-apocalyptic Hyde Park.
With so much feature film work now going to Eastern Europe, this was a welcome – albeit brief – return by the film industry. The last feature film to use the House or Park was “Cody Banks 2”, now three years ago. The film that best features the House and Park is 1984’s “The Shooting Party”, starring James Mason and Edward Fox, released for the first time on DVD a couple of weeks ago and packaged with a documentary entitled “Knebworth – Playing Nettleby”. I recommend it for Santa’s list!
On a different note, I thought the debate that took place at the Parish Council’s Open Meeting on 4th October about the forthcoming pressures of the Local Development Framework was particularly constructive.
