July 2012

I’ve never been to Verulamium Museum.  I’ve studied Classical Civilisation for O level, A level, even as part of my screenwriting career, but I’ve never been to Verulamium Museum.  I’ve visited the Colosseum in Rome, the ancient ruins of Pompeii, the temples at Paestum… but I’ve never made it half an hour down the road to the Verulamium Museum in St Albans.  But that’s so often the case, isn’t it?  We happily travel to visit attractions across the seas, across the country, even in London… without contemplating those on our doorstop.  So, this July I encourage you to consider Hertfordshire as your leisure destination!

For a taster of the bounties and beauties of our own home county, visit www.visitknebworth.com, where I have posted a fun new promotional video made by Enjoy Hertfordshire with loads of ideas of how to spend your weekends this summer.  And who is that lovely blond girl in the video, to be seen visiting Hatfield House, Verulamium Museum, Knebworth House, St Albans Abbey, Lee Valley White Water Centre, the Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead, Paradise Wildlife Park, Butterfly World, etc. etc…?  Why, none other than my own daughter!  I can’t believe Morwenna has been to Verulamium Museum and I haven’t!
