Knebworth House, Gardens & Park opens for the 2024 season

On Saturday 23rd March we’ll be re-opening our doors for the 2024 season!

Knebworth House, Park, Gardens, Adventure Playground and Dinosaur Trail will be open weekends, bank holidays and school holidays from 23rd March until 29th September. And again, this year, we are offering a discounted rate on tickets that are pre-booked online before arrival.

Here are our top things to do at Knebworth House this season!

Visit over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend
This Easter, Friday 29th March – Monday 1st April, we’ll be running our ever-popular Easter Trail. Follow the Trail sheet around Knebworth Gardens looking for clues to complete the word puzzle, with a delicious prize at the end! You can also join the Green Dragon Bowmen in the Park for ‘have a go’ Archery! Priced at £2 to shoot 6 arrows.

Attend the Hertfordshire Garden Show
This year Hertfordshire Garden Show are celebrating 30 years at Knebworth Park. There will be plenty of inspiration for the Spring and Summer months ahead supplied by the exhibitors attending the Hertfordshire Garden Show from 4th – 6th May. There will be a wide variety of goods on display and for sale including garden furniture, water features, tools, sculptures and more. Tickets also include access to Knebworth Gardens and Park.

Scare yourself on the Ghost Tour and Bat Walk
On 16th May and 20th August there will be a unique opportunity to tour the House at night and hear the tales of the incidents we cannot explain and visit areas where our resident presences have been detected. It doesn’t matter if you believe in ghosts or not – because everything in this tour is true! Do you dare?

Get tickets for the Garden Theatre Performances
On Thursday 13th June an open-air performance of ‘The Secret Diary of Henry VIII’ by The Three Inch Fools will take place of the Sunken Lawn of Knebworth House. This Garden Theatre performance will be an essential guide on how to keep your head in the Tudor Court – whilst others around you are losing theirs!

If Shakespeare is more your cup of tea, join us on Sunday 4th August for an open-air performance of ‘Hamlet’ by The Lord Chamberlain’s Men. Bring a picnic, blanket and chairs to make an evening of it!

Watch the Father’s Day Medieval Jousting display
Medieval Jousting returns to Knebworth Park this Father’s Day, 16th June. You’ll be encouraged to cheer and jeer the Knights as they demonstrate their skill on horseback against the spectacular backdrop of the turrets and towers of Knebworth House. The perfect treat and day out on Father’s Day.

Immerse in our Garden Opera Evening
Join us on Sunday 7th July on the Sunken Lawn of Knebworth House for an enchanting open-air Garden Opera performance. Wild Arts presents some of the greatest stories of all time, with dramatic intrigue, jealousy, comedy, idealism, and pure love. Follow our characters’ journeys through 75 minutes of musical favourites from Rossini, Handel and Viardot, to Bernstein and Gershwin. Performed by four world-class singers and a string quintet.

Eat & Drink at The Great British Food Festival
Summer wouldn’t be quite the same without The Great British Food Festival! Set for 20th & 21st July, there will be a wonderful array of produce on offer, from local and national producers bringing homemade products to you, which you won’t find in the supermarkets. From chocolate to chutney and cheese to chilli sauces there will be something to delight your taste buds.

Drive into the Classic Motor Show
The Classic Motor Show on 25th & 26th August is not to be missed – there will be a static display as well as a show arena hosting parades. Vehicles include saloons, sports, American, commercial, military and classic motorcycles. There will also be children’s entertainment, live music, hot food, and shopping stalls!

Fly away with Peter Pan
Treat the kids this summer holiday to an open-air performance of ‘Peter Pan’. For one night only – Thursday 29th August – on the Sunken Lawn of Knebworth House, Immersion Theatre will perform the classic story bringing all the characters to life.

Filled with catchy music, heaps of audience interaction, and a laugh-a-minute script, this hilarious and exciting musical of the boy who never grew up promises to have every member of the family entertained throughout…You’ll be HOOKED!

Calling all Petrolheads!Petrolheadonism Live is back at Knebworth Park for a must-see family spectacular this September! Expect exciting Combustion Celebration and Automotive Spectacular featuring Influencers, over 1,000 show cars from across all genres of vehicles from Supercars to Retro, Classics to Highly Modified as well as movie inspired vehicles and Hypercars!

Please note Knebworth House, Gardens, Park, Adventure Playground and Dinosaur Trail will be closed for this event.

DogFest is back!
DogFest, the UK’s favourite dog-friendly festival is back for 2024, returning to Knebworth Park on 21st and 22nd September. DogFest is an absolute must for dog lovers, where attendees can expect an action-packed and memorable day for two and four-legged friends alike.

From fun dog shows and world class action displays, to have-a-go activities including haybale racing, catch the flag, agility so many more, there’s something for every tail to wag about!
