{"id":374,"date":"2012-05-03T10:04:24","date_gmt":"2012-05-03T10:04:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.knebworthhouse.com\/blog\/?p=374"},"modified":"2012-05-03T10:04:24","modified_gmt":"2012-05-03T10:04:24","slug":"may-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/knebworthhouse.com\/blog\/?p=374","title":{"rendered":"May 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our Parish Open Day was blest with beautiful sunshine \u2013 a perfect Spring day \u2013 and enjoyed by 1183 children, families and teachers from Knebworth Primary School and 367 parishioners.\u00a0 We were particularly pleased to welcome the school for its Centenary Picnic \u2013 a hundred years is a fine milestone.\u00a0 It does give me pause to think, however, that as a former pupil passing the milestone of my 50<sup>th<\/sup> birthday this month, the school was positively young when I was there!\u00a0 I remember the terror of my first day, having to be bribed out of the car in the High Street with the promise of an Action Man toy, then climbing steep Swangley&#8217;s hill up to Mrs Desborough class.\u00a0 I don\u2019t remember any picnics at Knebworth House, but I do remember the one time I was punished \u2013 a slap on the bare thigh with a wooden ruler!\u00a0\u00a0 Did I deserve it?\u00a0 Couldn\u2019t possibly say \u2013 I\u2019m a governor now!\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Henry Lytton Cobbold<br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a title=\"Knebworth House\" href=\"http:\/\/www.knebworthhouse.com\/\">www.knebworthhouse.com<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our Parish Open Day was blest with beautiful sunshine \u2013 a perfect Spring day \u2013 and enjoyed by 1183 children, families and teachers from Knebworth Primary School and 367 parishioners.\u00a0 We were particularly pleased to welcome the school for its &hellip; <a href=\"https:\/\/knebworthhouse.com\/blog\/?p=374\">Continue reading <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[10],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-374","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-10"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
