Hopefully rough winds are not shaking the darling buds of May when you read this \u2013 hopefully the lowest boughs and the brushwood sheaf round the elm-tree bole are in tiny leaf, while the chaffinch sings on the orchard bough in England – now!…\u00a0 I am very much looking forward to the last night of the Village Festival when Colin Greenslade will be reading \u201cBest Loved Poems\u201d in the Banqueting Hall of Knebworth House.\u00a0 \u201cHow Do I Love Thee\u2026\u201d\u00a0 \u201cShe Walks in Beauty\u2026\u201d\u00a0 \u201cI Wandered Lonely\u2026\u201d\u00a0 \u201cI Wish I\u2019d Looked After Me Teeth\u2026\u201d\u00a0 Yes, everyone\u2019s favourite poems will be represented, including Colin\u2019s trademark comic poems which are so popular at Christmastime.\u00a0\u00a0 Joan Hunter Dunn will be there – \u00a0furnish\u2019d and burnish\u2019d by Aldershot sun – Burning Tygers, Idle Kings, and the lady with the lovely face, God in his mercy lend her grace\u2026\u00a0 Is there honey still for tea? \u2013 No, but there will be sparkling wine on arrival, and canap\u00e9s in the interval!\u00a0 See you there!<\/p>\n
